Nat Immuo:IRF4对B细胞成熟至关重要

        B细胞是一种免疫细胞,它的成熟过程对其行使功能来说至关重要。研究人员在7月出版的《自然—免疫学》期刊上报告说,他们鉴别出一种对B细胞成熟过程来说至关重要的蛋白质。  

        B淋巴细胞产生抗体,这种抗体分子能给入侵的病原体贴上标签,从而让免疫系统向它们发起进攻。B淋巴细胞还能改变抗体的类型,让它们适应不同类型的病原体。  

        Riccardo  Dalla-Favera和同事发现,如果缺少一种名为  IRF4的分子,B淋巴细胞就无法转换抗体的类型。这些结果表明:IRF4对B淋巴细胞实施免疫功能来说至关重要。此外,因为部分B细胞癌症患者含有过量的  IRF4,这些结果也许有助于研究人员弄清楚为什么会出现某种类型的癌症。
